Professor Liam Dorris is an Honorary Professor in the School of Health & Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC) in Glasgow. He leads a clinical-research team focusing on pediatric neuropsychology, with expertise in neurodevelopmental and neurological disorders in children. His roles include supervising clinical psychology trainees and research students, and he serves on editorial boards and committees such as the European Journal of Paediatric Neurology and the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Neuropsychology.
His research spans epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, and developmental neurotoxicity, with major studies like the GACE cohort investigation and the Horizon SCN1a natural history study. He collaborates with leading researchers such as Prof. Sameer Zuberi and Dr. Andreas Brunklaus. Notably, he chairs the BPS Faculty of Paediatric Neuropsychology (2013–2016) and was awarded a BPS Fellowship in 2017.
Key publications include work on neurodevelopmental outcomes post-anesthesia, psychosocial interventions for epilepsy, and Dravet syndrome caregiving. His current grants include EPI-SCOT (epilepsy stratified therapy) and Biocodex-funded research.
