Dr. Li Tang is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Reading, where she teaches EC142 Applied Economics and Policy and EC148 Introductory Economics. She also serves as an external seminar organizer for the department.
Dr. Tang's educational background includes:

- BSc in Money, Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham (2017)
Dr. Tang's primary research focus is behavioral macroeconomics, with special emphasis on experimental methods to study expectation and belief formation among households. Her work examines how these beliefs respond to policy changes, including monetary, fiscal, and macroprudential policies, as well as central bank communication. She investigates how shifts in beliefs influence decisions related to saving, consumption, and investment. Her research spans multiple disciplines including economics, finance, and political science, with publications examining stock price forecasts, political satisfaction, worker productivity during the pandemic, and macroeconomic forecasting.
Dr. Tang is actively involved in the academic community, co-organizing the 56th Money, Macro and Finance Society conference in 2025 at Reading and organizing external research seminar series at the university.
