About
Li Li is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Oakland University. Her office is located in room 350 MSC, and she can be contacted via email at li2345@oakland.edu, phone at 248-370-3447, or fax at 248-370-4184.
Professor Li's research spans several interconnected areas of pure mathematics:
- Cluster algebra and its connections to geometry and combinatorics
- Algebraic geometry of Schubert varieties
- Geometric and combinatorial structures of point configurations in plane and higher dimensions
- Properties of arrangements of subvarieties including hyperplane and subspace arrangements
- Theory of Lawson homology and morphic cohomology
- Group theory and Cayley graphs
Her work bridges multiple mathematical disciplines with particular focus on the interplay between algebraic structures, geometric configurations, and combinatorial patterns. Professor Li investigates how these mathematical objects relate to each other through frameworks such as the ideal defining the diagonal locus in (C^2)^n, q,t-Catalan numbers, Hilbert schemes of points on Deligne-Mumford stacks, and wonderful compactifications of arrangements. Her research contributes significantly to understanding the deep connections between seemingly distinct areas of modern mathematics.
