Dr. Li Ding is a Professor in Operations Management at Durham University Business School and currently serves as the Faculty EDI Lead. She holds a Ph.D. in Management Science from the University of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on applying probability, statistics, operations research, and machine learning to solve complex business problems, particularly in resource allocation within supply chain and healthcare operations. She has published extensively in top-tier journals such as Management Science, Production and Operations Management, and OR Spectrum.
Her work has been funded by EPSRC and UKRI, addressing critical issues like ICU bed allocation during the pandemic. Dr. Ding teaches courses on Operations Management, Decision-Making, Business Modelling, and Supply Chain Risk Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her research interests span decomposition methods, bandit problems, Markov Decision Processes, behavioral operations, and healthcare economics.
