Li-Chin Jennifer Ho

Dr. Li-Chin Jennifer Ho is a Professor of Accounting in the College of Business at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), where she has been a faculty member since 1996 and promoted to full professor in 2011. She served as Department Chair from 2014 to 2018 and is currently the Accounting Ph.D. Program Coordinator. A CPA licensed in Texas, she holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.

Her research centers on the economic impact of accounting in capital markets, with key interests in ESG and sustainability reporting, earnings management, financial reporting quality, international accounting (especially IFRS adoption), top management team diversity, and enterprise risk management. She has published in premier journals such as The Accounting Review, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, and Review of Accounting and Finance, where she served as Co-Editor-in-Chief (2019–2022) and Associate Editor (2016–2019).

The recent publications highlight a strong trend in gender diversity (e.g., CFO gender and financial reporting), international comparisons (U.S. vs. foreign firms), and sustainability (triple bottom-line reporting). Her work frequently employs empirical methods to analyze large datasets and inform regulatory and corporate practices.

Dr. Ho has advised numerous Ph.D. students, serving as Dissertation Committee Chair for several, including Tsung-Hsuan Joey Yang and Lin Vivian Chen. She has received research grants from UTA and actively participates in AACSB accreditation efforts. She mentors doctoral students and teaches managerial and cost accounting at undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels.

She leads and participates in multiple committees, including the Accounting Ph.D. Program Committee, Faculty Recruiting Committee, Promotion and Tenure Committee, and the Associate Dean (Diversity, Racial Equity, and Inclusion) Search Committee. She also chairs the Mission and Strategic Management Committee and serves as a Faculty Advisor to the Taiwanese Student Association.
