Li Bennich-Björkman

Li Bennich-Björkman is a Skyttean Professor of Eloquence and Political Science at the Department of Political Science, Uppsala University. Her work bridges political theory, post-Soviet transformations, and institutional analysis, with a focus on the Baltic states and academic freedom.

• Research Interests: Political culture, historical legacies, post-communist transitions, academic institutions, citizenship, and geopolitical identity.
• Publications: Over 200 works on Baltic state-building, Soviet intelligentsia, academic governance, and memory politics. Key themes include civil society, elite mindsets, and EU integration.
