Lewis Robinson is an Associate Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Maine Farmington. He holds an M.F.A. from the University of Iowa and a B.A. from Middlebury College. His works include the award-winning story collection Officer Friendly (Random House) and the novel Water Dogs, recognized as a New York Times Book Review Editor’s Choice. His writing spans fiction, essays, and narrative nonfiction, with contributions to Sports Illustrated, Tin House, and The Baffler.
Robinson’s research interests focus on creative writing techniques, literary fiction, and the intersection of sport and storytelling. His essays explore themes in contemporary culture, often blending personal narrative with critical analysis.
He has received grants from the Whiting Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. His work has been featured on NPR’s Selected Shorts.
