Lewis Gooch

Dr. Lewis Gooch is a Researcher (Research Associate) at The University of Newcastle's School of Engineering, specializing in structural reliability of unreinforced masonry. His work focuses on experimental testing, numerical modeling, and stochastic assessment to improve masonry design standards. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering (in progress) and completed his Bachelor of Engineering with Honours Class I and a University Medal. Lewis has extensive teaching experience in courses like Engineering Risk and Uncertainty, Geomechanics, and Transportation Engineering. His research addresses masonry variability through Monte-Carlo simulations and finite element analyses.
