Lewis Eisen

Lewis Eisen, M.D., is a Professor at Montefiore Medical Center, affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His roles include Chief of Clinical Affairs and dual appointments in the Department of Medicine (Critical Care) and The Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology.

• Education: Johns Hopkins University (undergraduate), Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (MD), residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, and pulmonary/critical care fellowship at Beth Israel.

Dr. Eisen specializes in point-of-care ultrasound, simulation training for airway emergencies, and teamwork/leadership in critical care. His research bridges critical care outcomes with medical education innovations, focusing on ultrasound-guided procedures and crew resource management. Peer-reviewed publications and national course faculty roles highlight his expertise in regional and global critical care ultrasound training.

Scientific Contributions include a 2024 New England Journal of Medicine trial on noninvasive ventilation during intubation and systematic reviews in CHEST journal. He has authored over 50 manuscripts and served as a course director for critical care ultrasound programs.
