Levent Gürel

Dr. Levent Gürel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Pamukkale University's Faculty of Engineering, Türkiye. He holds a B.Sc. (2002), M.Sc. (2005), and Ph.D. (2011) from Ondokuz Mayıs University. His research focuses on advanced water treatment technologies, including membrane processes, biosorption using agricultural waste, and industrial wastewater remediation.

His core research interests encompass:

• Water and wastewater treatment
• Membrane bioreactors and emulsion liquid membranes
• Biosorption of heavy metals/dyes using sustainable materials
• Industrial pollution control

Dr. Gürel has supervised 5 Master's students (2018-2022) on projects related to pollutant removal using waste biomaterials. He leads active research projects funded by national agencies, including ongoing work on dye removal using biomass (2023-present). Administrative roles include serving as Deputy Department Head (2014-2018, 2021-2024) and journal editorship positions.
