About
Levent Akant is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Boğaziçi University. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Rochester (2003), an M.S. from the same institution (1999), and a B.Sc. from Boğaziçi University (1997).
- Research focuses on mathematical physics and high energy theory, including condensed matter on curved manifolds, Bose-Einstein condensation, equivariant cohomology, and large N gauge theories.
- Academic experience includes roles as Assistant Professor (2009-2019) and Associate Professor (2019-present) at Boğaziçi University, and postdoctoral research at the Feza Gürsey Institute (2005-2009).
His recent projects explore thermodynamics of quantum fields around black holes and condensed matter problems in curved spacetimes. He teaches a wide range of physics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
