Letty García is an Assistant Professor of Theater and Dance and Graduate Diversity Officer at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). She holds a Ph.D. in Drama and Theatre from UC Irvine, an M.A. in Shakespeare Studies (University of Birmingham, UK), and a B.A. in English and Comparative Literature (San Diego State University). Her research focuses on Shakespeare, critical race theory, pedagogy, and Latinx/Chicanx performance.

She is also advancing initiatives to support DREAM scholars and undocumented students in higher education. García grew up in the Imperial Valley and is a first-generation Mexicana academic.
