Leticia French is a Senior Lecturer of Writing in the Department of Communication and Studio Arts at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL), where she has been a faculty member since Fall 2014. She teaches undergraduate courses in composition and rhetoric, including Written Communications in Business, Technical Writing, Writing for the Public, and First-Year Writing.
- Key areas of expertise: Online teaching, business/technical communication, course development, metacognitive peer review, and course assessment
- Developed two major courses: Introduction to Professional Writing (with Dr. Dragana Djordjevic) and Writing for the Public
- Leader in online education transformation at UHCL, founding the Practical Online Pedagogy faculty community
Her research focuses on improving online education, gender language in professional communication, remote teaching, and academic dishonesty among faculty. She received UHCL's Outstanding Lecturer of the Year Award in 2021.
Educated at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with B.A. and M.A. in English (rhetoric and composition emphasis).
