Lesly Sanchez-Villar, LCSW, serves as an Assistant Professor in Residence at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work, where she has functioned as a field instructor since 2017 and teaches courses within the Individuals, Families and Groups (IGFP) concentration.
She earned her degree from the UConn School of Social Work in 2015 with specialized training in Administration and Puerto Rican and Latin@ Studies in Social Work. Her professional background includes direct clinical practice with Individuals, Groups, and Families across home and community agency settings serving Latinx populations.
Dr. Sanchez-Villar's expertise centers on Latinx-focused clinical social work, bilingual (Spanish/English) therapeutic practice, and family/group intervention models. As a fluent Spanish speaker, she actively contributes to the Connecticut ¡Adelante! Cohort, which develops Spanish-language clinical competencies among social work students through specialized mentorship and skill-building initiatives.
