Leslie N. Sharp is the Dean of Libraries at the Georgia Institute of Technology since July 2020. She previously served as Interim CEO of the Library and Associate Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Faculty Development. As Dean, her priorities include fostering inclusive environments, integrating library services with institutional missions, and enhancing technological infrastructure. She holds a Ph.D. in History and Sociology of Technology and Science and an M.A. in History of Technology from Georgia Tech, alongside earlier degrees from the University of Georgia and Middle Tennessee State University.
Her research focuses on technology's sociocultural impacts through the lens of historic preservation, gender, and race. Teaching in the College of Design, she previously held roles as Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and Outreach, and as an Associate Research Professor at Middle Tennessee State University.
In her administrative roles, Sharp has reformed promotion processes for lecturers, expanded graduate student support systems, and institutionalized inclusive practices for faculty recognition. Her professional vision emphasizes ethical leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, and leveraging partnerships to advance academic and research missions.
