Lesley Murray

Lesley Murray is a Professor in Spatial Sociology and Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange at the University of Brighton's School of Humanities and Social Science. Her work focuses on urban mobilities, gender-based violence, and intergenerational studies. She leads projects such as the AHRC-funded 'Transforming trans-national landscapes of gender-based violence through trans-sensory storying' (UK and Mexico).

Research Interests: Murray explores how gender and generation intersect with urban mobility, emphasizing mobility justice and methodological innovation. Her projects use creative methods like autoethnography and poetry to study exclusion and resistance in urban spaces.
