Leonore de Wit

Leonore de Wit is an Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences and APH - Mental Health department of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She holds dual appointments and leads educational initiatives as Director of the Graduate School FGB. Her research focuses on mental health interventions, meta-analytic methodologies, and student wellbeing.

Education: PhD in Psychology (2005-2010) with specialization in obesity, lifestyle, and mental disorders. Academic qualifications include advanced training in systematic review methodologies and clinical trial design.

Research emphasizes obsessive-compulsive disorder treatments, eHealth interventions, and stress management strategies across diverse populations. Recent work explores telehealth integration in physical therapy settings and cross-cultural stress factors among university students.

Current teaching includes courses on low-intensity mental health treatments and behavioral therapy seminars. She leads the 'Students who care' project developing certification programs for mental health interventions, with 4 years of active research funding (2019-2023).
