Leonardo Fogassi is a Full Professor in the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Parma. He obtained his Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Pisa (1982) and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Parma (1990). His career includes roles as Associate Professor (1999-2006) and Full Professor (2006–present). He has held visiting positions at MIT's Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences (1988-1989).
His teaching spans undergraduate and graduate programs in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, and Speech Therapy, covering courses like Neurophysiology of Mental Processes, Mirror Systems Applications, and Human Physiology. Research focuses on neurophysiological mechanisms of action observation, mirror neuron systems, and their clinical and cognitive implications.
