Leona Beecroft

Leona Beecroft is a Clinical Skills Educator and Registered Nurse at the School of Dentistry, University of Leeds, Faculty of Medicine and Health. She has been actively involved in clinical education since 2005, with a strong focus on simulation, feedback, professionalism, and patient safety. She co-leads the Dental Medical Emergencies (DME) service and chairs the Professionalism Committee, contributing significantly to curriculum development and educational leadership.

Her research interests center on how feedback is experienced by providers in clinical education settings, with applications in simulation and human factors. She is deeply engaged in fostering professional traits and safe clinical practice among students and trainees.

Leona is a personal tutor for the PGCert Clinical Education program and delivers external training for the Leeds Dental Institute, general practice teams, and dental foundation programs through Health Education England. She is a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Royal College of Nursing (RCN), and Higher Education Academy (HEA).
