Leon von Haugwitz serves as a Research Fellow in the Department of Ergonomics at the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors (IfADo) in Dortmund, Germany. He has been affiliated with IfADo since December 2021 as a research assistant, following a research internship and student assistant role from 2020-2021.
His academic credentials include:
- Bachelor of Science in Business Psychology from Rhenish University of Applied Sciences Cologne (2015-2018), thesis: "Implementation and evaluation of a Human-Centric-Lighting System for stress reduction in shift work – a randomized control group study"
- Master of Science in Psychology (Human Factors and Engineering Psychology specialization) from University of Twente, Netherlands (2019-2021), thesis: "Stress effects on endogenous and exogenous visuospatial attention"
His research centers on stress-cognition interactions, specifically examining cardiac activity's influence on conflict processing under stress and developing human-centric lighting interventions for shift workers. Current projects investigate physiological markers of cognitive load in ergonomics contexts, extending his foundational work on visuospatial attention mechanisms.
No scientific awards are documented in available records. Similarly, no information exists regarding advised students or secured research grants.
He operates within the Experimental Ergonomics team led by Prof. Dr. Edmund Wascher, contributing to IfADo's Stress & Work Design research group through experimental studies on information processing and physiological responses in workplace environments.
