Leo Liu is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Finance Discipline Group at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Business School. His research focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, and management's impact on firm outcomes, utilizing advanced statistical and machine learning techniques in finance and economics. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), a Master of Philosophy in Finance from UNSW, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University.
Dr. Liu’s work explores topics such as how innovation shapes firm value and economic growth, CEO decision-making processes, and the application of machine learning in financial analysis. His research has been presented at prestigious conferences, including the American Economic Association (AEA) and American Finance Association (AFA). He also serves as a Research Fellow and Business Analyst at Rozetta (formerly CMCRC).
Professionally, he possesses expertise in programming (Python, Rust, Vlang), database systems (SQL/NoSQL), and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX). He is fluent in English and a native speaker of Chinese.
