Lena Behrmann is a Research Fellow at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), affiliated with both the Center for Obstetrics and Pediatrics (Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology) and the II. Medical Clinic and Polyclinic. Her work focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying hematological malignancies, particularly leukemia and lymphoma. She investigates topics such as bone marrow niche interactions, immune evasion mechanisms in cancer, and drug resistance pathways.
Her research combines experimental models with clinical insights to advance therapies for pediatric and adult cancers. Behrmann collaborates across departments within UKE’s Faculty of Medicine and contributes to translational studies targeting cancer biology and immunology. She holds a PhD and has published extensively on topics including regulatory T cells in leukemia, NOTCH1 gene fusions in lymphomas, and Hedgehog signaling inhibition in AML.
