Len Falkenstein is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of New Brunswick, where he serves as Director of Drama. He teaches playwriting, theatre, and drama courses, and his creative work includes authored plays like Utopia and Doppelganger, produced at Canadian Fringe Festivals and Toronto's Summerworks Theatre Festival.
As Artistic Director of NotaBle Acts Theatre Company, he develops new plays by New Brunswick dramatists. He also leads Bard in the Barracks, Fredericton's outdoor Shakespeare festival, and has directed over thirty productions through Theatre UNB and his company Theatre Free Radical. His research encompasses theatre history and drama analysis.
Falkenstein is an active member of the Canadian Association for Theatre Research, publishing scholarly essays in journals including Canadian Theatre Review and Canadian Literature.
