Leluo Guan

Leluo Guan is a Professor at the University of Alberta, affiliated with the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences and the Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science. His research focuses on functional genomics and microbiology, particularly bovine OMICS and microbial interactions.

• Degree: PhD in Pharmaceutical Science from Kyoto University

Dr. Guan's research explores molecular mechanisms of host-microbial interactions in cattle through metagenomics, metatranscriptomics, and functional genomics. His work addresses associations between gut microbial ecology and feed efficiency, methane emissions, and gut immunity development, with applications to economically important traits in beef and dairy cattle.

He teaches advanced courses such as AFNS575, ANSC479/ANSC499, and ANSC318. His lab includes postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, and technicians contributing to ongoing studies.
