Leigh Fleming

Dr. Leigh Fleming is the Deputy Head of the Department of Engineering and Mathematics at Sheffield Hallam University. She holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering Design from the University of Huddersfield and a PhD focusing on 3D analysis techniques for hip replacement wear. Her research integrates engineering solutions into healthcare, emphasizing medical device design, surface metrology, and skin integrity studies. Key projects include the EU-funded NANOMEND (defect detection in flexible photovoltaics) and DTI-backed SOLADIM (semiconductor defect analysis).
