Dr. Lee Zane is an Associate Professor at Rowan University's William G. Rohrer College of Business, Department of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Strategy from Drexel University and a BS in Management Information Systems from Rowan University. With over 20 years of industry experience, he has founded a startup (Zane & Associates, Inc.) and held leadership roles in software development and manufacturing. His teaching focuses on Management, Entrepreneurship, and International Business, including a Veterans Entrepreneurship Training program.
Dr. Zane's research explores strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship through lenses of social networks, resources, and cognition. His work addresses topics like venture formation, technology diffusion, and sustainable product adoption. He has published over 15 journal articles and 5 book chapters, with active conference participation. Beyond academia, he serves as Vice-president of Bork, a metal fabrication business.
His research highlights include analyzing founders' social networks' impact on venture success, cognitive biases in entrepreneurial decisions, and global diffusion of sustainable technologies. His work bridges theory and practice, emphasizing interdisciplinary education and experiential learning. Dr. Zane's prior roles include teaching at Rider University and leading a software development firm acquired by Thomson. Personal interests include family, outdoor activities, and Eagles fandom.
