Lee Usher

Dr. Lee Usher is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of West London, affiliated with the School of Human and Social Sciences. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Research Methods and leads the MSc Health Psychology program.

His research spans health psychology and social psychology, focusing on the psychology of humour, wellbeing, and alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing) and 4 (Quality Education). His work examines:

• Illness representations in disorders of gut-brain interaction (e.g., IBS)
• Mental toughness and affect in academic success
• Role of rumination in posttraumatic growth

Recent publications analyze CAM usage in IBS, mental toughness in education, and health disparities in older women. He is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, with fellowships from Advance HE.
