Dr. Lee McCorkle is a cognitive and evolutionary anthropologist affiliated with Masaryk University (CZ), where he held the position of Associate Professor and Research Specialist in the Department for the Study of Religions (2011–2013). He directed the Laboratory for the Experimental Research of Religion (LEVYNA), instrumental in establishing it as a center for experimental methodologies in cognition, culture, and religion. His work bridges classical social theory with cognitive science approaches to religion.
Education: PhD in 2007 from Queen’s University Belfast, focusing on ritualized corpse disposal across time and space.
Research interests include experimental methodologies for laboratory/field studies, international collaborations, and recent projects on immunology-behavior linkages. He has co-edited major works on cognitive science of religion and mental culture.
Labs/Teams: Founder of LEVYNA, fostering interdisciplinary research in experimental religion studies.
