Dr. Lee Chun-Yi is an academic affiliated with the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham, England. She holds a BA in Journalism and Communication from Fu-Jen Catholic University (Taiwan), an MA in International Studies: Asia Pacific Studies (University of Nottingham, UK), and a PhD in Politics and International Relations from the University of Nottingham. Her research focuses on Chinese Studies, International Relations, and Political Economy, with a particular emphasis on the influence of foreign investors—especially Taiwanese businesses—on Chinese workers and labor rights. Her PhD research explored interactions between Taiwanese businesses and the Chinese government, funded by a University of Nottingham studentship. Currently, she investigates labor treatment differences among foreign-invested firms in China and their societal implications.
Dr. Lee’s work employs methodologies such as interviews, participant observation, and case studies. She contributes to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of political economy and labor rights, addressing how foreign investment dynamics shape socio-economic outcomes in China.
