Dr. Leah McIntosh is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of New England's School of Environmental and Rural Science. She holds a PhD from UNE, an MSc from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and a BSc from Winona State University.
Her research analyzes aquatic food webs and ecosystem functioning in the Murray-Darling Basin river systems. She develops sustainable management strategies for river ecosystems and studies fish ecology using stable isotope techniques. Her 2020 publication validated fin tissue as a non-lethal alternative for food web studies.
Current projects include investigating fish population structures in the Barwon-Darling River and trophic interactions in altered freshwater environments.
