Lea Streit

Lea Streit is a Researcher at the Institute for Landscape and Environment at the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU) and a doctoral student at the University of Hohenheim. She holds a Master's in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Economics (HfWU, 2022) and a Bachelor's in Landscape Planning and Nature Conservation (HfWU, 2020). Her research focuses on ecological and socio-economic aspects of biodiversity conservation, with emphasis on market-based incentive systems for voluntary compensation payments in agriculture and climate protection measures in peatlands.

Professional history includes work as a gardener in Munich (2014–2020) and training in horticulture/landscape design (2012–2014). Current projects investigate the efficacy of biodiversity-promoting compensation mechanisms in agricultural landscapes. She has published in Environmental Management (2025) and collaborates with institutions like the University of Hohenheim.
