LeAnne Petherick

LeAnne Petherick is an Associate Professor at the Department of Curriculum & Pedagogy, Faculty of Education, University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on critical pedagogy, Indigenous studies, and health education in early childhood contexts.

• Research Interests: Sociology of childhood, physical activity, biopedagogies, health education, outdoor learning, and Indigenous gender studies.

Her recent publications (2019-2025) analyze colonial legacies in health and physical education curricula, Indigenous masculinities, and biopedagogical practices. Themes include critical race theory, decolonization, and culturally relevant teaching.
