Laxman Timilsina

Laxman Timilsina serves as Assistant Professor of Economics at Connecticut College, where he has held a faculty position since 2020 and is currently scheduled for sabbatical during Fall 2025.

His academic credentials include a B.A. from Middlebury College and a Ph.D. from the City University of New York (CUNY Graduate Center), completed in 2020.

Dr. Timilsina's research specializes in Applied Microeconomics with critical focus areas in health, education, and immigration policy impacts. His work rigorously examines how governmental interventions—both historical and contemporary—affect vulnerable socioeconomic populations, emphasizing empirical welfare analysis through microeconomic frameworks.

He teaches core economics courses including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Economics of the Welfare State, and Race, Poverty and Inequality in the U.S., integrating his research perspectives into classroom instruction.
