Dr. Laurie Warren is a Senior Lecturer in Biology at the University of Central Arkansas. Her academic focus centers on aquatic toxicology with specialized research on invertebrate responses to environmental contaminants. She teaches courses including Environmental Theory and Application, Biology for General Education, and Environmental Toxicology.
Her research examines the effects of pollutants on aquatic invertebrates, particularly amphipods. Published work includes co-authoring a study on nitrate and atrazine impacts on Hyalella azteca survival and behavior in the Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry journal.
Education includes a PhD in Environmental Toxicology from Clemson University (1996). She joined UCA in 2000 and maintains an active research program investigating ecotoxicological effects while delivering foundational biology instruction.
