About
Dr. Lauren Seitz serves as a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC) within Baylor University. Her academic appointments and interdisciplinary focus position her at the nexus of communication studies and political rhetoric.
Her educational qualifications include:
- Ph.D., Communication, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, 2025

- B.A., English and French, Ball State University, 2016 (summa cum laude)
Dr. Seitz specializes in rhetorical theory and criticism with concentrated expertise in contemporary radical right-wing politics across international contexts. Her research interrogates the symbiotic relationship between right-wing populism and nationalism, particularly examining French political landscapes through the lens of cultural racism ("ethnicism"). As a fluent French speaker, she analyzes Marine Le Pen's strategic deployment of gender rhetoric and feminist discourse to advance exclusionary politics, contributing critical perspectives on transnational far-right movements and electoral strategies in Europe.
