Lauren Jae Gutterman serves as Chair and Associate Professor of American Studies at The University of Texas at Austin's College of Liberal Arts. She holds concurrent faculty appointments in the Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies and maintains affiliations with both the LGBTQ Studies program and History Department.

Professor Gutterman specializes in 20th-century U.S. history with focus on lesbian experiences within marriage, LGBTQ family formations, and intersections of gender/sexuality with popular culture.
