About
Laure Resplandy is an Associate Professor of Geosciences and the High Meadows Environmental Institute at Princeton University. She serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies, Chair, and Director of the Minor (DoM). Her research focuses on biogeochemical oceanography, integrating numerical models and observational data to study climate-ocean interactions, marine biogeochemistry, and ecosystem dynamics. She leads the Resplandy Research Group, emphasizing global carbon cycle, ocean oxygenation, and climate modeling from small to large scales.
Her work addresses critical questions such as ocean deoxygenation, phytoplankton dynamics, and the impacts of climate change on marine systems. Notable achievements include being named a 2024 RIO-NJ Influencer for Environment and contributing to major initiatives like the Global Carbon Budget assessments. Resplandy advises multiple graduate students and collaborates on interdisciplinary projects, including coastal greenhouse gas flux studies and climate mitigation strategies. She holds an office at 418B Guyot Hall and can be reached at laurer@princeton.edu.
