Laura Zanotti is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Purdue University. She joined Purdue in 2009 and was later promoted to Professor. She serves as the Associate Director of the Center for the Environment and is affiliated with the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, as well as the American Studies and Latin American and Latino Studies programs.

Her research focuses on environmental anthropology and interdisciplinary approaches to sustainability in rural communities. She integrates decolonizing methodologies with insights from cultural geography, Indigenous studies, and Latin American studies to explore how local livelihoods and well-being can be sustained for future generations.
She has received research grants from the National Science Foundation, the Center for the Environment, and the Purdue Policy Research Institute. Her publications include Negotiating Territoriality: Spatial Dialogues between State and Tradition, alongside work in journals such as American Anthropologist and World Development.
