Laura Wheeler

Laura Graves Wheeler is an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy in the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Hartford. She earned her BS in Occupational Therapy from Worcester State College and a post-professional doctorate from Quinnipiac University.

Her clinical experience spans pediatric school systems and older adult populations, with expertise in short-term rehab and dementia care units as both practitioner and rehab director. Research focuses on aging in place and student mental health.

Scientific awards include specialty certifications in dementia care and home modification. Dr. Wheeler contributes to accreditation as an evaluator for ACOTE and serves on the board of the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association.
