Laura Taylor

Laura Taylor is a faculty member at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, where she serves as Program Director/Chair of the Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist Program. Her career spans 35 years in nursing education and 30 years in transplant nursing, with national and international recognition for leadership in practice, policy, and education.

Dr. Taylor’s research integrates technology-based innovations, rigorous scientific methods, and interprofessional collaboration to advance global transplant care and doctoral nursing education. She pioneered programs like the Guiding Initiative for Doctoral Education (GuIDE™) and Ready to Launch, which prepare nurses for competitive admission to DNP and PhD programs. Her scholarly focus includes nursing informatics, holistic care, and crisis workforce dynamics.

Her work reflects trends in nursing education reform, telehealth integration, and psychosocial aspects of transplantation. She has authored publications on mindfulness toolkits for burnout, donor-recipient relationships, and curriculum innovations.
