Laura Spenceley is the Dean of the College of Education, Health, and Human Services at SUNY Oswego and holds the academic rank of Associate Professor. She previously served as Associate Dean in the Division of Graduate Studies and taught in the Counseling and Psychological Services Department. Her roles include overseeing academic programs, faculty development, and fostering interdisciplinary initiatives within the College.
Dr. Spenceley’s educational background includes a Ph.D. in School Psychology from Syracuse University, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Ball State University, and a B.S. in Psychology from Western Michigan University.
Her research focuses on improving the validity of psychoeducational evaluations and advocating for academic accommodations for students with disabilities. She is also engaged in P-20 partnerships to enhance educator preparation programs. Her work emphasizes ethical assessment practices and supporting students impacted by illness or injury.
