Laura Simaitis

Laura Simaitis is an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Quinnipiac University, teaching courses including Neurorehabilitation I/II and Clinical Decision Making II. She co-chairs the Community Engagement Committee and serves as Faculty Advisor for the Graduate PT Club and the EQUIP All-Abilities team, organizing adaptive sports initiatives like Hiking Without Boundaries and Wheels in Motion.

Her research focuses on telehealth-based outcome measures, fall risk prediction in neurologic diseases, and strength assessments in multiple sclerosis, conducted in collaboration with the Joyce D. and Andrew J. Mandell Center for Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Care. Recent work explores walking mechanics, cultural competence education, and adaptive rehabilitation metrics.

Publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches to neurologic rehabilitation, emphasizing quantifiable metrics and community engagement. She actively integrates clinical expertise as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy (2018) into teaching, while promoting inclusivity through adaptive sports advocacy.
