Laura Shanahan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and a member of the Neuroscience Program at Rhodes College. Her research focuses on cognitive neuroscience, particularly the intersection of human sleep and sensory processing.

- B.S. in Psychology and Biology from University of Wisconsin – Madison
Dr. Shanahan investigates the impacts of sleep deprivation and olfactory (smell) processing. Her work bridges sensory neuroscience with sleep physiology, exploring how these systems interact.
