Laura Severin

Laura Severin is Professor of English at North Carolina State University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences, with over 30 years of service since 1984. She holds a PhD in Twentieth-Century British Literature from Indiana University. Her scholarship examines twentieth and twenty-first century British literature, focusing on multimedia experimentation in Scottish women's poetry addressing environment and health themes.

Major publications include:

• Poetry Off the Page: Twentieth-Century British Women Poets in Performance (Ashgate, 2004)
• Stevie Smith's Resistant Antics (University of Wisconsin Press, 1997)

Administrative service includes former roles as Department Head of English, Associate Dean, and Special Assistant to the Provost. She co-directed NC State's NSF ADVANCE grant (2008-2012) promoting faculty diversity and was an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow hosted by Duke University.
