Laura Renshaw-Vuillier

Dr. Laura Renshaw-Vuillier is a Professor at Bournemouth University, specializing in the intersection of emotions, mental health, and eating disorders. She holds a PhD in Psychology, Education, and Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge (2014) and has conducted post-doctoral research at the Cambridge Prosociality and Well-Being Lab. Her work focuses on emotion regulation in clinical populations, including eating disorders and autism-linked mental health challenges. She has secured major grants from the British Academy/Leverhulme and NIHR, and her research uses EEG techniques to study neural mechanisms of emotion processing. She actively engages in public outreach through BBC Radio Solent and The Conversation. Her recent work includes developing DBT-informed online interventions for eating disorders, exploring links between autism traits and eating disorder psychopathology, and studying orthorexia nervosa. Dr. Renshaw-Vuillier teaches courses in clinical psychology, mental health, and neuroscience within Bournemouth University’s academic programs.
