Laura Porter

Laura Porter is a Lecturer in the Department of Music at California State University, Fresno, and a prominent harpist active in Central California. She serves as Principal Harp with the Fresno Philharmonic, performing extensively across California, and collaborates with diverse musical organizations including Moment Musical, the Wind Symphony of Clovis, Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale, and Soli Deo Gloria. She co-founded chamber groups Duo Cantilena (flute and harp) and the Figarden Trio (flute, bassoon, and harp).

A dedicated educator, Ms. Porter teaches harp lessons to adults and children in Fresno, holds faculty positions at Fresno Pacific University, University High School, and the Youth Orchestras of Fresno, and instructs at the summer program FOOSA. Her pedagogical contributions extend to leading an adult Harp Circle for local enthusiasts.
