Dr. Laura Oliver is an Assistant Professor at the McLane College of Business, University of Mary Hardin–Baylor (UMHB), where she teaches courses including Human Resource Management, Fundamentals of Management, Intro to Business, Personal Finance, and Team Management.
Research Interests: Her research focuses on employee morale, employee satisfaction, and work breaks, with a strong emphasis on human resource practices related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), employee welfare, career development, and performance-based compensation systems.
Dr. Oliver holds a Ph.D. in Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Walden University (2016), a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University (2011), and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Human Resource Management from Hawaii Pacific University (2008). She also holds the SHRM-SCP and PMP professional certifications.
With over 27 years of professional experience in business—including over 20 years in human resources and more than 10 years in higher education—she brings extensive practical knowledge to her academic role. She has experience ranging from international sales to affirmative action planning and is also the owner of a small business operated as an LLC.
