Laura Montecchio is a Lecturer at King's College London's Department of Political Economy, Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. She joined King's in October 2021. Her academic background includes a MA in International Journalism from Brunel University London, a MA in Gender Studies from University College Dublin (UCD), and a Double BA in History (Université Paris Diderot) and German Studies (Université La Sorbonne Nouvelle).
Her research focuses on radical right populism, gender, feminist theory, and comparative politics in Western Europe. Her doctoral work explores elitism in radical right parties across France, Germany, and Italy through a gendered lens using feminist critical discourse analysis.
Her 2021 publication Come i media italiani (non) parlano di violenza di genere examines media discourse on gender-based violence in Italy. She contributes to the European Politics and Society Research Group, analyzing evolving European identities and political dynamics.
