Laura Michaels

Laura Michaels is an Associate Professor in the Science & Mathematics Department at Mount Aloysius College. She has been teaching there since 2007, initially part-time as an adjunct for 5 years and full-time since 2012. Her expertise spans Human Anatomy and Physiology, Human Muscle Anatomy, and Human Biology and Nutrition. With a background in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, she integrates clinical insights into her teaching to enhance student retention of material for future careers.

Education: A.A. from Cuyahoga Community College and D.P.M. (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine.

Research interests include the interplay between health/wellness and human physiology, with a focus on complementary therapies like yoga and meditation. She actively teaches yoga and explores its physiological impacts. Personal hobbies include tennis, pickle ball, hiking, and family travel.
