Laura Macdonald is a Professor at Carleton University with joint appointments in Political Science and the Institute of Political Economy. She earned her PhD and MA from York University and BA from Queen's University.
Her research analyzes North American integration, Canadian-Latin American relations, and gender dimensions of trade policy. Macdonald co-edited 'The Politics of Violence in Latin America and the Caribbean' and 'North America in Question: Regional Integration in an Era of Economic Turbulence.'
As a McLeod Group member, she advocates for evidence-based Canadian foreign policy and regularly contributes to public discourse on hemispheric relations.
